Innovation and Evolution of Soft Magnetic Materials

Time:2026-01-04 Browse: 261

Soft magnetic materials feature low coercivity and high magnetic permeability, and are widely used in electrical and electronic equipment, automotive, new energy and other fields. Their main types include iron-silicon alloys, soft ferrites, and amorphous-nanocrystalline alloys.

In the 1990s, the advent of amorphous and nanocrystalline alloys drove innovation in the industry. Thanks to their low-loss advantage, iron-based amorphous alloys have gradually replaced silicon steel and expanded into medium-to-high frequency applications.

In recent years, research teams have developed amorphous-nanocrystalline transitional alloys through component design, breaking the inherent trade-off between traditional material properties. Meanwhile, machine learning has been applied to optimize the composition of iron-based amorphous alloys, leading to the creation of high-performance new materials.

Currently, the field of soft magnetic materials is evolving towards higher magnetic permeability, thinner profiles and higher frequency compatibility.
